Zhao Wei looking incredibly chic and sophisticated for Marie Claire
omg this is why hsds2000 is the best thing ever
(summary of what happened) Yang xiao promises ji xiao fu that he would remain faithful to her but xiao fu decided that in order to keep her teacher from killing yang xiao, they couldn’t remain together so she told him that she didn’t need him anymore and didn’t even tell him that she had his child.Yang Xiao was depressed because he couldn’t forget about her and remained single for the rest of his life. about 10 years later xiao fu was killed and zhang wu ji brought the child of yang xiao and xiao fu (yang bu hui) to mt. kun lun.
the young girl drops her fire token (a token given to members of the ming cult in order to get help from members, was given to xiaofu by yang xiao).Yang xiao happens to see her drop it and asks the little girl what her name was and who her mother was. Bu Hui means no regret and Yang Xiao realized that Xiao Fu had lied to him in order to protect him.
Literally no other versions of HSDS has really went in depth on this part and this is why the 2000 version is my absolute favorite.
GEET Part 2 of 12
As much as I enjoyed the romantic office bickering, it wasn’t until Geet confessed her pregnancy to Maan that I completely succumbed to the show. Their journey from the first blush of romance to soul searing love started at this point and every step towards each other was utterly bewitching.
His shock, pain, then rage was fascinating to witness since we’re talking about the man who rules his life with iron fists; surprises don’t happen in his well-ordered life, pain is an emotion he’s buried, and rage means he actually allowed something to matter enough to care (btw a ragey shirtless Maan is an incredible treat for the eyes. ^^) Maan proves himself worthy of Geet’s trust when, despite his sense of betrayal, his first thoughts are still of Geet and although unwelcome, of her child. Here you recognize that no matter how much he wishes to just say fuck it and toss her out of his life, she has seeped under his armor and while it may hurt like hell, cutting her out would damage him irrevocably.
Now Geet was in a word spectacular as she ‘confessed’ her past to Maan. No weeping woman of shame. No, she’s like a warrior demanding her rights to his fair hearing. She didn’t ask to fall in love with him, he promised to stand by her side, so he owes it to her to at least hear her story.
How was it her fault when her hands were forced by her domineering family?
How was it her fault that she had a normal wedding night in her innocent belief in happily ever after?
How was it her fault when the ‘husband’ she was to worship betrayed her the very next day, conning her dowry after taking her virginity?
How was it her fault when she found out she was pregnant and out of instinctive motherly love went against her family to protect the child?
How was it her fault when she tried to stay away from him, but instead came ever closer?
And how does our Mr. Maan Singh Khurana respond? “I thought you were only mind” OOMPH.
It’s actually a great moment, because Geet won her way to Maan’s heart by omitting one hell of a secret. It needed to be acknowledged how deeply she cut him even with her truths. The words lay thickly between them, and she out of hurt, decides to leave. Which shocks Maan out of his personal misery, and set up the pattern for their life together – no matter what it cost him, she came first.
What comes next is a beautiful courtship that is insanely sensual while representing the purest form of love. With the burden of her past revealed, Geet finally allows herself to open up her heart fully to Maan, and he proves himself more than worthy of her. I loved that upon acknowledging her past, his sole focus was on her present and future and the role he wishes to play in them; he is fully prepared to not just be the man in Geet’s life, but also the future father of her baby – their child.
Kim Jae Wook as second lead in Age of Feeling, while male lead is Kim Hyun Joong.
I have a very soft spot and a blind eye to KHJ as he is my beloved leader of SS501, but seriously the man needs to focus on his muscle building and music and leave the acting to well… actors.
Seriously after Who Are You, can’t we have ONE drama where he is lead? Either the man is purposely pursing roles that interest him on a personal level or his agent needs to be fired.
